Hi. My name is Suzannah

I am a licensed professional counselor, and I work with couples and individuals 18 years of age and up. My focus is to offer a safe and therapeutic environment in which you can find acceptance, help to improve your relationships, achieve greater self-awareness, manage anxiety and depression, and process past traumatic events (through EMDR). I love helping people become the best version of themselves. I work from evidence-based models including Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and I work collaboratively with you to customize a treatment plan to fit your individual needs.

For couples, I use a combination of Gottman and Relational Life Therapy techniques to highlight negative dynamics occurring between you and teach you how to change this dynamic, communicate more effectively, and repair the connection you once had. Some of my training includes Gottman Level 1 & 2 and Relational Life Therapy for couples, pre-marital counseling, and EMDR training for trauma.

I have been married to my husband since 1990 and together we have eight children: half are biological, while the other half are adopted from foster care. My parenting journey began in 1992 and includes 25 years of homeschooling experience. I have always had a heart for adoption and have experience with the attachment-based issues that underly the adoption process, such as attachment disorders, behavioral difficulties, and abandonment issues.
